Act as a responsible owner of Deutsche Bahn – transport ministry must greatly enhance shareholding management
The federal government does not adequately perform its ownership responsibility of the German railways, Deutsche Bahn. This has resulted in considerable drawbacks. We urge the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure to enhance shareholding management.
Transport ministry is planning to build an underpass with an unnecessary barrier system at a cost of more than €2.8 million
The transport ministry is equipping an underpass beneath the A 92 motorway with a high-performance pumping system to ensure drainage even during heavy rainfalls. In addition, the transport ministry is building an emergency power supply and an alarm system. On top of that, the Ministry is making arrangements for a barrier system for the highly unlikely event that the pumping system fails during lower rainfall.

The transport ministry made major decisions on a building project of a new federal trunk road without basing its decisions on adequate economic feasibility studies. As a result, the transport ministry again violated basic financial management regulations.
Transport ministry ignores value-for-money principle and traffic safety in planning a motorway junction
The transport ministry intends to build a new motorway junction closely to a junction already in operation at the A 7 motorway. The related plan neither takes into account aspects of value for money nor of traffic safety.
