Liaison with EUROSAI

The European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) is one of INTOSAI’s seven regional working groups. One of its key objectives is to promote professional and technical understanding and co-operation among member institutions of EUROSAI and with the other regional groups of INTOSAI by sharing knowledge and experience on external audit. EUROSAI’s 50 members throughout the European continent – from Iceland to Israel and from Portugal to Kazakhstan – have diverse historical and government backgrounds (including the European Union member states, Central and Eastern European countries and the Community of Independent States) and are organised in various public sector audit systems. This reflects the large diversity of the Organisation and is one of its major assets.

The Strategic Plan  defines the Organisation’s mission, vision and values, and sets out two strategic goals reflecting EUROSAI’s needs and priorities. To implement the goals, strategic objectives and desired outcomes are determined. The implementation of each of the two strategic goals is the joint responsibility of two EUROSAI Members as Co-leaders. The Co-leaders coordinate their work with the chairs of the Working Groups, Task Forces and Project Groups. The SAIs of Germany and  of the Czech Republic are the Co-leaders for Strategic Goal 1 “Supporting effective, innovative and relevant audits by promoting and brokering professional cooperation”.
